Save time, add a new campaign

I chat to my eldest daughter on her return from a marathon camping trip, together with her sack of laundry.

We play catch up and exchange whilst the washing machine whirs.

"Hard to believe they're back at school already. It still seems like summer."
"Yes I know but we should still be able to squeeze in a swim as homework hasn't started yet."
"I'm amazed then can all swim now!"
"Yes, we're so lucky."
"Luck and a pool. Doesn't get much better than that."
"I know. Don't know how we'll cope when it gets cold again."
"But it never really gets cold here. It's California afterall."
"The water in the pool gets cold fast and then no more swimming."
"Well there's always next year."
"Oh I know that!"
"So?"
"We'll be back to the nightmare of baths and showers."
"Oh yes. I was forgetting."
"Right now they're all as clean as whistles every day."
"Chemically hygienic clean! Positively squeaky!"
"I don't know if I'm ready to start another de-sensitization campaign?"

Nonna appears in the kitchen.

"Ello!"
"Hi Nonna!"
"So.......can I?"
"?"
"I want.......you know.......do I have time?"
"?"
"I have time for a swim? It will save me having to wash."

Looks like they are having fun in the pool! We have a small one in our yard that will have to be put away before too long. Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Hee Hee! So why do the Olympians go shower after they dive into the pool? I was wondering about that as they just got out of water! : )

Pool looks lovely.

I can't believe your blogroll. Whew! When do you find time to read all of those?

I need to come hang out with you and get a lesson in maintaining energy! You truly AMAZE me.

Lovely family!

That looks like so much fun. It is funny how we shower after a swim. I guess I tend to do it wash out the chlorine.

I second the pool heater idea!

If we had a pool I don't think either of my girls would ever get out. Thankfully their love of being wet extends to the shower and bath, I just have to be ready to mop up the flooded floor when they are done.

Oh the pool is a favourite place for Feral Beast too - the water just calms him down so beautifully and his anxieties simply melt away.
Bliss!

What about transitioning from pool to tub by letting them wear bathing suits in the tub? When Jenny was little she loved that.

I'm not generally a fan of chemicals. But with dirty kids (and elders), the pool can be a Godsend.

Hahahaha! Yes, we saved time over our vacation by dunking boys in the pool instead of trying to get them used to the strange bathroom. I don't think my mom approved, but what's better than chlorine?
